Council Chairperson, Pilates Aotearoa
Stephanie comes from a legal and marketing background, specialising in intellectual property, brand strategy and communications. She holds a Bachelor of Law (Honours), Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications), and is a Chartered Secretary (ACG AGNZ).
In the governance realm, Stephanie is passionate about promoting the interests of the active recreation and performing arts industries, which she contributes to through her various governance roles.
Being the driving force behind Pilates Aotearoa, an industry organisation for Pilates in New Zealand, her goal is to help build and connect the Pilates community in Aotearoa, support Pilates businesses to financially succeed and improve the quality and breadth of Pilates training programs and professional development opportunities on offer.
Steph is also a Director of Te Mahi Ako which provides work-based learning in te ahumahi ā-rēhia: the active recreation, leisure and entertainment sectors, and a Trustee of the New Zealand Youth Ballet Company.
Having taught group fitness classes for over 17 years, Steph takes pleasure in teaching Reformer and Mat Pilates, Clinical Pilates and Barre sessions around Christchurch, as well as running around after her two little girls, Maria (5) and Grace (3).
